Progress on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
A Live Activity is the thing that sits on the Lock Screen during a food delivery or a match. Sippy uses one for the days when keeping up actually takes attention.
Turn it on
- Open Settings and switch on “Progress on the Lock Screen”.
- On the Today screen, tap “Hot day” or log a workout.
- Progress appears on the Lock Screen, and in the Dynamic Island on an iPhone that has one.
What it shows
- Today's total against today's goal, raised for the heat or the workout.
- Three log buttons — your first, second and fourth cup sizes.
- Your companion, and how it is feeling about the day.
When it goes away
By itself: six hours after it starts, or the moment you reach the goal. It is for the hard part of the day, not a permanent fixture.
FAQ
- Why does nothing appear when I turn it on?
- The setting only arms it. It starts when you tap Hot day or log a workout.
- Does it drain the battery?
- It is a system Live Activity with a short life, updated when you log — not a background process of its own.
- Can I have it every day?
- Not at the moment. For an all-day view, use a Lock Screen widget instead.
Sippy is a reminder and a record of what you drink, not medical advice. Its suggested goal follows published guidance for healthy adults, and the app is for ages 14 and up. If you have heart, kidney or liver disease, low blood sodium, take diuretics, or have been told to limit fluids, ask your doctor before setting a goal.
Drink water, grow cute cats
Sippy nudges you only when you are behind, logs a glass in one tap from the Lock Screen, and grows a cat farm — or a tiny forest — as the goal days add up. Free, no ads, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
