The Apple Watch app
Sippy includes a watch app, so a glass at the kitchen sink does not need your phone at all.
Install it
- Install Sippy on the iPhone first.
- Open the Watch app on the iPhone and scroll to Available Apps.
- Tap Install beside Sippy — or turn on automatic app install and it arrives by itself.
On the wrist
- Today's progress and your companion.
- Buttons to log a drink without touching the phone.
- Everything logged on the watch appears on the iPhone, and the other way round.
Complications
Add Sippy to a watch face and progress sits there permanently. Four shapes are provided: circular, corner, rectangular and the inline line at the top of a face.
Adding a complication
- Touch and hold the watch face and tap Edit.
- Swipe to the complications screen and tap the slot you want.
- Scroll to Sippy and pick the shape offered for that slot.
- Press the Digital Crown to finish.
FAQ
- Does the watch app work away from my iPhone?
- You can log on the watch and it syncs when the two are together again.
- Will water logged on the watch by another app count?
- If it writes dietary water to Apple Health and you have Health sync turned on, yes.
- Does the watch show reminders?
- iPhone notifications are forwarded to the watch in the usual way, so yes, when your watch is on your wrist and your phone is locked.
Sippy is a reminder and a record of what you drink, not medical advice. Its suggested goal follows published guidance for healthy adults, and the app is for ages 14 and up. If you have heart, kidney or liver disease, low blood sodium, take diuretics, or have been told to limit fluids, ask your doctor before setting a goal.
Drink water, grow cute cats
Sippy nudges you only when you are behind, logs a glass in one tap from the Lock Screen, and grows a cat farm — or a tiny forest — as the goal days add up. Free, no ads, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
