Log water from Control Center or the Action button
On iOS 18 and later, Sippy provides a Control Center control. It logs 250 ml — a standard glass — and nothing opens.
Add it to Control Center
- Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
- Tap + at the top left, or touch and hold an empty area, to start editing.
- Tap Add a Control and search for Sippy.
- Choose “Log a glass of water” and drag it where you want it. Tap anywhere to finish.
Put it on the Action button
- Open iPhone Settings › Action Button (on an iPhone that has one).
- Swipe to Controls and tap the control shown.
- Pick Sippy's “Log a glass of water”.
- A long press on the Action button now logs a glass, without unlocking.
Or the Lock Screen buttons
On iOS 18 and later the two Lock Screen shortcuts — normally the torch and the camera — can be swapped for a control too, Sippy's included.
FAQ
- Can I make it log a different amount?
- Not at present — the control logs 250 ml. For your own cup sizes, use a Home Screen widget or the notification buttons.
- Does it work on the Lock Screen?
- Yes. Control Center and the Action button both work without unlocking.
- I cannot find the control.
- It needs iOS 18 or later, and Sippy must have been opened at least once after installing.
Sippy is a reminder and a record of what you drink, not medical advice. Its suggested goal follows published guidance for healthy adults, and the app is for ages 14 and up. If you have heart, kidney or liver disease, low blood sodium, take diuretics, or have been told to limit fluids, ask your doctor before setting a goal.
Drink water, grow cute cats
Sippy nudges you only when you are behind, logs a glass in one tap from the Lock Screen, and grows a cat farm — or a tiny forest — as the goal days add up. Free, no ads, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
