Privacy Policy

Introduction

Novaz (“we,” “us” or “our”) takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit waterreminder.novaz.app and use Novaz: Water Reminder, Tracker (the “App,” and together with our website the “Services”).

When we refer to personal data we mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. For the purposes of the GDPR, Novaz is the data controller unless otherwise stated.

Our privacy-first approach

Sippy is built to collect nothing about you:

• No account required. You don’t create an account or give us an email address to use the App.
• Your data stays on your device. Every drink you log, your daily goal and the details behind it, your companions, their outfits, your stickers and your settings are stored in the App’s own database on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. We never receive them.
• No cloud sync. There is no server and no iCloud sync. You move your data between devices with a backup file you create and control.
• No advertising and no trackers. The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not build profiles about you. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell your data. We never rent or sell your personal information to anyone.

Information we process

What you log

Your drinks and their times and types, your daily goal and the factors behind it (activity level, climate, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and an optional weight), your wake and bed times, your meal times, your companions, accessories, decorations and stickers, and your streak and rest days — all of it is stored on your device and processed there. It is not uploaded to us and we have no way to access it.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled with iOS on your device. Their text — a line from your companion and the amount still to go — is held by the system on your phone; it is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Health data

Apple Health sync is off until you turn it on. When you do, the App reads and writes one kind of sample, Dietary Water, so that water you log on an Apple Watch, a smart bottle or another app also counts. That exchange happens on the device, between Sippy and the Health app. Health data never leaves your device through us, is not stored in iCloud by the App, and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.

Backups you create

A backup is a file produced on your device and saved wherever you choose through the iOS share sheet. It contains your profile, your drink history and your companions. It is never sent to us, and once you save it, keeping it safe is in your hands.

Purchases

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. If you subscribe to Sippy PRO, billing is handled entirely by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple tells the App whether the subscription is active; that answer contains nothing about you.

Contact information

If you contact us by email (for example at support@novaz.app), we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and provide support. Please do not send us health details — we do not need them to fix an app problem.

Website analytics

Our website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It records aggregate, non-identifying statistics such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, browser, and device type. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal information that identifies you. It runs on this website only — never inside the App.

How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

• provide and maintain the Services and their core functionality;
• understand, in aggregate, how our website is used so we can improve it;
• respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests;
• protect the security of our Services and comply with applicable law.

Sharing of your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the limited circumstances described here:

• Service providers. We use Apple (App Store distribution and billing) and Umami (website analytics). These providers process information only as needed to perform their services, and neither receives anything you have logged in the App.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
• Business transfers. If Novaz is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.

Data retention

The App does not maintain accounts, and everything you log is kept on your device — deleting the App removes it, and there is no copy anywhere else. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle your request and to comply with our legal obligations. Analytics data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain accounts and hold nothing you have logged, these rights are mostly exercised on the device itself: your data is in your hands, and deleting the App deletes it. For anything we do hold (such as support emails) contact us at support@novaz.app and we will help.

Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect information. We design the App to keep your data on your device and to minimize what leaves it; that data is protected at rest by iOS file encryption tied to your device passcode. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The App is intended for people aged 14 and over, because the hydration guidance it is built on is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Please review this page periodically.
