Cats or trees: pick what you are looking after
The point of the companions is simple: a glass of water does nothing you can see, so Sippy gives you something that does. Nobody ever dies of thirst in this app, and a missed day never takes anything away.
Choosing a theme
Onboarding asks for cats or trees, and Settings › Companions can change it later. Switching turns every companion into the other kind — your cats become trees, or your trees become cats — while names, birthdays and all your progress stay exactly as they were. You can switch back any time.
The drawing style
Cats come in six drawing styles, picked during onboarding, and in four arts — classic, anime, mascot and doodle. Everything born afterwards is drawn that way.
Names, coats and personalities
- Every newborn arrives with a name from a small pool (Mochi, Tofu, Bean, Clover…), which you can rename in Settings by tapping it.
- Cats have sixteen coats. Five of them are rare, and a newborn has about a one-in-seven chance of being born in one.
- Each cat has one of five personalities — cuddly, playful, lazy, shy or foodie — and it shows: a playful cat roams faster and further, a lazy one yawns and dozes, a shy one covers its eyes the first time you touch it.
They react to you
Tap a companion and it responds — a meow, a purr, a stretch. Sounds can be turned off in Settings, and they stay silent anyway when your phone is set to vibrate.
FAQ
- Can a cat die if I forget to drink?
- No. Companions never die, never leave and are never taken away. The worst that happens is a droopy face and a sad line until you drink something.
- Can I have both cats and trees?
- Not at once — the theme covers the whole farm. Switching is free and keeps everything, so you can live with one for a while and try the other.
- Can I rename a companion?
- Yes. Settings › Companions, tap the name and type a new one.
Sippy is a reminder and a record of what you drink, not medical advice. Its suggested goal follows published guidance for healthy adults, and the app is for ages 14 and up. If you have heart, kidney or liver disease, low blood sodium, take diuretics, or have been told to limit fluids, ask your doctor before setting a goal.
Drink water, grow cute cats
Sippy nudges you only when you are behind, logs a glass in one tap from the Lock Screen, and grows a cat farm — or a tiny forest — as the goal days add up. Free, no ads, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
