Where your drinking data is kept
Sippy has nowhere to send your data, because it has no server. That is not a policy it could quietly change — there is no account to attach anything to.
What is stored, and where
- Your drinks, goal, companions, outfits, stickers and settings live in the app's own database on your iPhone.
- Apple Health, if you turn it on, exchanges water with the Health app on the device — it does not pass through us.
- The backup file is made only when you ask for one, and saved wherever you choose.
- There is no iCloud sync. Nothing is uploaded.
What the app does not do
- No account, no email address, no sign-in.
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
- No analytics or tracking inside the app.
- Nothing is sold or shared. The App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected, and Tracking: No.
The website is a separate thing
This site uses Umami, a cookieless analytics tool, for aggregate page views. It runs on the website only — never inside the app. See the privacy policy for the details.
Deleting everything
Delete the app and its database goes with it. There is no copy on a server for us to delete, and no way for us to recover it — so take a backup first if you plan to come back.
FAQ
- Is my water history in iCloud?
- No. The app's database is created with iCloud off, and nothing is written there.
- Can Novaz see what I drink?
- No. It never leaves your device.
- Does it work with no network at all?
- Yes, completely.
Sippy is a reminder and a record of what you drink, not medical advice. Its suggested goal follows published guidance for healthy adults, and the app is for ages 14 and up. If you have heart, kidney or liver disease, low blood sodium, take diuretics, or have been told to limit fluids, ask your doctor before setting a goal.
Drink water, grow cute cats
Sippy nudges you only when you are behind, logs a glass in one tap from the Lock Screen, and grows a cat farm — or a tiny forest — as the goal days add up. Free, no ads, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
